Peter recently showed me a blog by some poor cretin believing that the BNP aren't racist. Yeah, I know. Now, I admit that I am slightly right-wing, and am often in opposition to Peter's leftist ideals, but this is something that we agree on in terms of politics. The BNP is wrong, and racist. Some of their ideas are alright, granted, but even Hitler had a few good policies. I in no way condone any of his actions, but he did get several million Germans back into work after the Wall Street Crash. Saying that that makes him a good person, though, is like saying that Mussolini was a decent dictator because at least he made the trains run on time (which he didn't, but anyway). The BNP is based on the fundamentally wrong principle that being British makes you better than everyone else. That isn't self-help, as embodied in the right. It's wrong-headed.
